COACHES SHOULD TAKE A LOOK!
North Carolina
SES staff was on hand to watch James Keenan at East Dublin Saturday
night in Beulaville, NC. Dezarae
Phillips (5’8” Sr. combo guard played a near superb game. She played point and ran the show for most of
the, but was also unstoppable on the post.
Dez was aggressive on both ends of the floor and when she got her hands
on a rebound; no one was going to get to it. I was most impressed with her
passing ability as she was directing her teammates into scoring position. She still needs a bit of work on her ball
handling and particularly her left hand, but well worth the look. I failed to mention that she’s has a nice
shooting touch, form and excellent free throw shooter. Coaches, a
Division II prospect for sure and won’t be available once she’s seen.
Tenae McKenzie (5’5”) Jr. point
guard at East Duplin had a solid games with 8pts, 4 assist and 7 steals, but
wasn’t enough to hold off James Keenan. Tenae is a finisher and excellent at
drawing fouls and getting to the line. Looking forward to watching her play this
summer on the travel circuit with the DC Shock. Her freshman teammate Jonisha McKoy lead the
way with 11 pts. And 8 rebounds. Jonisha
is going to be a force on the post and has nice ball handling ability. Another
player to look for this summer with the championship squad with Team Carolina.
